Berrycoombe Vale

Berrycoombe Vale (Hillside Park)

Hillside Park is Bodmin’s entrance to the Camel Trail. The site runs past the imposing and historic Bodmin Gaol, a building with layers of history including housing the Domesday book and the crown jewels during times of crisis (not to mention a ghost or two).

Hillside Park is a large open space that is great for recreation of all types, currently including a popular Junior Park Run which is held every Sunday at 9.00 a.m.

The well maintained path that runs through the site is now linked in with the Bodmin cycle scheme providing access to Wadebridge and Padstow in one direction and the ever popular Bodmin Military Museum, Bodmin & Wenford Steam Railway, the town of Bodmin itself and the majestic National Trust Lanhydrock House and the bluebell-filled  Respryn Woods in the other.
