Bodmin Town Council is in the process of selecting tenders for a new skatepark facility. The new skatepark will be situated next to the old tennis courts in Priory Park (subject to all appropriate Planning consents) and will not only be a great improvement to the current skatepark facilities but will also help to develop a currently underused area.
It is hoped that the project will also improve access paths to this area, opening up more of Priory Park to people of all ages and abilities. The skatepark will be built out of concrete and the successful contractor will be working alongside the local skaters to develop a facility that is fit for their needs and abilities. The project will hopefully provide all involved with a sense of ownership to that part of Priory Park that can be passed on to future generations of skaters.
Contractors will be discussed at the Council’s next Properties Committee meeting with a hope to have presentations from selected companies at the beginning of May 2019. Please keep an eye out on social media for information regarding the establishment of a Bodmin Skatepark User Group as we want your input to help make this a great facility that will last for the next 20+ years.
