Bodmin Town Council recently appointed Maverick Skateparks to design and install a new Skate Park for Bodmin. The new facility will be sited adjacent to the old tennis courts in Priory Park. The Council is in the process of setting up a Skate Park User Group for interested parties and the initial meeting took place on 25 April 2019.
BTC would like to encourage the involvement of all ages, abilities and generations to be part of a Skate Park User Group. It is hoped that all disciplines of wheeled sports will be represented in this group and that the involvement in the process will allow for a sense of pride and ownership in the park and work alongside the parks and open spaces team and contractor to achieve the best results for the site both now and in the future.
A series of consultation events will take place with Maverick in order to work up the final design for the Skate Park. Planning permission will then be sought which will need to address a range of issues relating to the site including access, drainage, lighting etc.
There are already a number of individuals interested in joining the Skate Park User Group but we would welcome additional members and are holding a meeting on Wednesday 26 June at 5.30 p.m. in the Shire House Suite. Please note than any under 16s should be accompanied by an adult. For any further info please contact Richard Davies (details below).
