Community Volunteer Award Scheme 2020 – nominations sought

Nominations for the annual Bodmin Community Volunteer Award Scheme are being sought, with a deadline for receiving nominations of 31 January 2020.

Bodmin Town Council launched the Community Volunteer Award Scheme in 2018. The Scheme recognises and celebrates volunteers who have given their time for a cause or for others in our community or to someone who is helping an organisation to develop and thrive. Nominations for this award come directly from the community, which is very humbling to any recipient, as it is an opportunity to thank, applaud and reflect on their hard work and dedication given freely to the community.

The inaugural awards in 2018 recognised the extraordinary commitment of Mike and Carol Grigg, who had worked tirelessly for the 1st Castle Canyke Scout Group for over 30 years. In May 2019, the outgoing Mayor, Councillor Sara Kinsman, was delighted to present the 2019 Community Volunteer Award to Mr Keith Chapman for his significant contribution to the Bodmin Christmas Lights Committee and the Alstock Music event.

There are three categories in the awards; Outstanding Volunteer Contribution, Young Volunteer and Team Spirit.

If you wish to find out more about the Community Volunteer Award Scheme or make a nomination for the 2020 Award, please contact Councillor Karen Phillips by email  or use this link where you can find nomination guidelines and forms.
