How To Appeal

If you wish to appeal the penalty issued, you can write to the Council. Appeals must be made (in writing) within 14 days to the Town Clerk at the address or email below. Please note the appeals process is paper based only

Your appeal will be acknowledged and considered at the soonest possible Penalty Appeals Committee meeting. The penalty payable will be frozen at the £10.00 prompt settlement rate until the appeal has been considered. When the Appeals Committee has reached a decision you will be advised in writing.

To ensure your appeal is dealt with fairly please include the following information in your appeal:

  • Clear reasons setting out the basis of your appeal
  • Any supporting documentation
  • Include the relevant excess charge number
  • Contact address
